We mill the lumber ourselves at our Hobbit Sawmill at our family farm in Middleboro, Massachusetts. We use 1″ thick planks for walls and ceilings. Our ramps are made of maple 2′ hardwood for durability. Our flooring is 2″ thick and secured by 4 ” timber Lok screws. We never use nails< only screw throughoutthe entire building. This is a $300 value over what nails provide. Our roof is 30-year Archetec Ashvalt products; we use only the best, and the building is very heavy and rugged enough for horses, motorcycles, or sports cars. The wind is no match for this building, though it is possible for the roofing shingles to blow off in a hurricane. The stain is a 10-year high-quality painting product with no less than three coats on every side. We cater to a special customer, ones who understand that cheap “sheds” at Home Depot are worthless and weak. Our building is meant to last 50 years. If you come and inspect them, you will understand immediately.
If you are looking for a cheap, fast deal, this is not the place. Our buildings are a bit more expensive, but they are worth every penny. I have lived on this farm for 27 years, and I take a lot of pride in our workmanship. If you give us a chance, you will not be disappointed. Serving good customers is paramount. Normally, we can have the building ready in six days.
